E-SWORD
e-Sword is a free Bible Software package, it provides a fast and effective way to study the Bible. It is feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would expect in a free software package.   I have personally downloaded this program and tried it out. I commend the author for His work as this program is a great research tool.

Online Bibles

Blue Letter Bible

A great online resource for any Christian seeking to study the Word of God, it provides word-by-word Hebrew/English transliterations, extensive concordances, devotionals, Christian search tools, and a wide range of other supporting materials.  Its search capabilities are one of the best I have come across.

Bible Gateway (BibleGateway.com)

This online Bible has a couple of things that I like about it.  It has an NIV (New International Version) available online, many Bible programs do not include the NIV Bible due to copyright issues.  When you do a search on the Bible Gateway, it return cross references to other related passages of scripture.  Here is an example from a search I did, one of the returned passages had references to Exodus, Deut, and Lev.

honor your father and mother,'[ 19:19 Exodus 20:12-16; Deut. 5:16-20] and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'[ 19:19 Lev. 19:18] " 

NET Bible

The NET Bible (New English Translation) is a completely new translation of the Bible, not a revision or an update of a previous English version.
